SHORT-TERM RENTAL ORDINANCE NOTICE
December 5, 2022 ANNOUNCEMENT
RESOLUTION 2022-17
At the Monday, December 5, 2022, Town Council meeting the Town Council voted to delay the licensing requirement of the Short-Term Rental Ordinance until January 1, 2024.
Please see the attached Resolution, 2022-17. It is anticipated that the STR licensing/registration will open in the late spring of 2023 for the 2024 calendar year.
October 4, 2022 EXTENSION ANNOUNCEMENT
The timeline to register as a short-term renter has been changed from starting on or before October 1 to starting on or before December 1 and the registration will be open until January 31 which will allow time for the Town to complete the necessary building and fire inspections. If you have provided the Clerks office with your email, you will be notified by email as soon as the online registration is available, if before December 1 or if any changes occur to that schedule. A copy of the Short-Term Rental Ordinance can be accessed on the Town website at:

Any rentals occurring between October 1, 2022 and January 31, 2023 will not be governed by the Short Term Rental Ordinance.
August 22, 2022 ANNOUNCEMENT
At the Public Hearing of the Jamestown Town Council held Monday, August 22, 2022 the Short-Term Rental Ordinance was passed.
The ordinance requires registration and inspection of Short-Term rental units. Town Staff is working on the registration and inspection forms and will be available within the next couple of weeks.
